St Leger Festival - 2005

Doncaster is the only Northern racecourse to stage a classic race. The St Leger Stakes which was first run in 1776, making it the oldest classic in the world. The St Leger Festival is acclaimed as the premier sporting occasion of the Autumn calendar, an exciting spectacle which is also an important social event - a place to see and be seen.
