Doncaster officially opens the flat racing season with the Lincoln Meeting in March and ends the season with the November handicap. Every September Doncaster hosts the St Ledger Festival, a four-days festival of classic entertainment with the worlds oldest and longest classic race, run over a total distance of one mile.
